Pretty Sites v Spider Friendly Sites

It is nice to have a pretty looking webpage but is it Search Engine Friendly

The problem is that from a design point of view aesthetically it is hard
to keep a balance of design and SEO friendly pages. You have to decide if you
want your site to be easily indexed and search engine friendly.

Large Corporate Advertising websites such as for Versace www.versace.com
don’t need to worry about being Search Engine friendly because they
are already a leading fashion house and internationally known and they
can afford to use fancy and sophisticated Flash Intros, Video’s, music clips,
graphics, and minimal use of keywords on their site. Search Engines will grant
credence and high page ranking to such corporation’s websites as they
recognise their international importance and significance. They can easily
afford to be relaxed about trying to impress the search engines they are already
famous and internationally known.

However if you actually search for a product such as ‘Versace bags’ on www.google.com you
will find the following top 3 organic results

Versace Search Results

In Fact the Official Versace website is NOT even listed
for that search phrase in the top 100 results on Google.com!!

The point being they don’t really have to be keyword optimised as they are
‘Versace’ and if people want to look at their site they would search for the
name Versace not the product. This means that shopping sites selling Versace
products have the opportunity to optimise their sites to improve their ranking
and get higher listed for given phrases.

It is therefore important if you are trying to impress the Search Engines
and the chances are if you are reading this you want to, then you have to adopt
a positive ‘White Hat’ SEO program which includes keyword page optimisation.
Pages that do not have much text will stand very little chance
of being indexed by the leading search engines and you will not be listed
in the top 100 results let alone in the top 20.

Try to write some quality UNIQUE spiderable text for your
pages and do not use repetitive block text stuffed with keywords which
will be classed as SPAM you will cause your pages and site to be penalised
and potentially banned. Write about your pages with clear, unique descriptive
and well written content in which you can add sufficient number of keywords
and phrases without labouring the point. Content writing is a skill
and there is a balance of what Search Engines consider to be acceptable
and we at white hat have a trained web content writing team that can create
search engine friendly content for your site or we can optimise and adjust
your own or existing content to make the pages more optimised.
