Logo Design
The logo is the image of a company or rather, the image a company wants to portray of itself. It is the symbol that represents its presence in the market, on the streets, on the shelves of a supermarket, in the world. It carries the statement that a business, a company, an artist or any other professional wants to be known and recognized for. In other words the logo is an extremely important element of any business.
As you have probably understood, for all the above reasons, designing a logo is easily the most exciting and challenging job a graphic designer can ever been asked to do.
A well designed logo should be simple, almost minimal in its design in order to be memorable, instantly recognizable and unique. You don't want your customers to confuse your company with your competitors'.
It has to be readable and recognizable in black and white as well as in colour. What if somebody makes a photocopy (or a thousand) and your beautifully colourful logo suddenly becomes an unrecognizable blob?
It has to be portable and scalable. Your logo should look great when printed tiny on a business card as well as huge on a double decker bus. It will be displayed on a luminous screen with your website or it could be embroidered on your company's corporate uniform. The possibilities are endless and the design of your logo should be flexible enough to be portable across numerous media.
A good logo should also be conceptually charged, clever, and not too obvious. In the mad world we live in there is a company called Apple that makes computers and another one called Shell that deals with petroleum, nevertheless they managed to transform their rather controversial logos into worldwide brands. Have you ever heard of these companies?
But as well as being a challenge, the rewards that come from designing a logo can be invaluable. Think of Carolyn Davidson, the designer who made the Nike logo, every time she walks on a street she can see her design in use, priceless.
At White Hat we understand the importance of a logo and we make sure that all of the above requirements are met. We always enjoy the challenge of designing a logo that will make your company stand out from the mass and make you noticed.
Below are examples of some of the successful logos we have designed throughout the years. They belong to small and large companies and are from a variety of different businesses.
